If a company needs to reduce its electricity costs and has available space on rooftops or within its property, the ideal solution would be to install a photovoltaic (PV) system.<\/b> Photovoltaic panels convert solar energy into electrical energy. Such a panel generates direct current, which is then converted into alternating current using an inverter, making it compatible with the parameters of the electrical grid. <\/p>\n

There are two basic types of photovoltaic panels: monocrystalline panels and polycrystalline panels. Monocrystalline panels are currently the best option due to their highest efficiency, which ranges from 15% to 19%. The second type is polycrystalline panels, which have lower efficiency (14% to 16%) and, as a result, you would need more of them to achieve the same efficiency as monocrystalline panels. <\/p>\n

The most important factors ensuring the most efficient operation of the installation include:<\/p>\n

1. Choosing the appropriate power capacity of the installation for the company’s business profile<\/b><\/p>\n

The power capacity of the PV installation can be considered optimal if it ensures the maximum utilization of the generated electricity for self-consumption (while minimizing the sale of surplus electricity to the grid) while achieving a maximum self-sufficiency ratio.<\/p>\n

To achieve this, it is necessary to conduct an analysis of energy efficiency (taking into account the hourly profile of electricity consumption and production from the photovoltaic installation) as well as the financial efficiency of the energy system with the PV installation.<\/p>\n

Only in this way can we correctly determine the parameters of the photovoltaic installation and the installation method and avoid overestimating and oversizing the installation. Conducting analyses based on invoices or even measuring electricity consumption for a period shorter than the base year is worth as much as… the paper on which it is described. <\/p>\n

2. Optimal selection of panels and their placement on the roof or on the ground<\/b><\/p>\n

In order to make the most efficient use of electrical energy from a photovoltaic installation, special attention should be paid to its proper installation. The installation should be mounted taking into account all factors affecting its efficiency, such as the distribution of sunlight during the day and year, consideration of potential shading zones, cardinal directions, as well as the type and inclination of the roof. The selection of the installation is preceded by thorough calculations and the creation of a project. <\/p>\n
