BUSINESS ELECTRICITY PROCUREMENT

Business electricity procurement — offer comparison and broker support

As an electricity broker, we help businesses obtain offers from suppliers, compare the terms and select the most favourable proposal. Based on your contract, invoice and consumption profile, we determine which pricing model is worth requesting: fixed price, SPOT, index-linked, tranche purchasing or a hybrid model.

Is your electricity contract about to expire, or would you like to find out whether suppliers can offer better terms? Energy Trend supports you throughout the process of obtaining electricity offers: from organising your data and requirements, through contacting electricity suppliers, to comparing proposals and helping you choose the most favourable option.

Under our standard arrangement, you do not pay us a separate brokerage commission when the contract is signed. Energy Trend is paid by the electricity supplier whose offer you select.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Which businesses can benefit from this service?

This service is designed for businesses that want to obtain and compare electricity offers without managing the entire process themselves. It is particularly useful when electricity represents a significant operating cost, an existing contract is coming to an end or the business wants to see whether better terms are available.

Businesses approaching the end of their current contract

For businesses whose current electricity contract is nearing expiry and that want to request new supplier offers well in advance.

Organisations looking to test the market

For businesses that want to compare electricity offers without handling supplier enquiries, analysing proposals and reviewing contract terms on their own.

Manufacturing, warehousing, retail and service businesses

For facilities where electricity is a significant operating expense that affects budgets, margins or cost predictability.

Businesses with one large metering point or multiple sites

For businesses with one large electricity delivery point (PPE in Poland), several such points or multiple locations, provided the volume of consumption makes comparing offers worthwhile.

Businesses that have already received a supplier offer

For businesses that have a proposal and want to decide whether to accept it, negotiate the terms or compare it with other offers.

Businesses also interested in gas

For clients who would also like to compare gas offers or discuss procuring both utilities in a single process.

As a guide, the service is most worthwhile when annual electricity expenditure exceeds approximately PLN 100,000. If your consumption is lower, you can still contact us — we will assess whether a comparison of offers makes economic sense. For businesses looking solely for a quick online quote and very small consumers whose annual electricity or gas expenditure is less than approximately PLN 100,000.

HOW WE WORK

How we help your business find an electricity offer

We do more than collect quoted rates. We first determine which type of offer to request from suppliers: fixed price, SPOT, index-linked, tranche purchasing or a hybrid model. Only then do we send enquiries to electricity suppliers.
This means you can compare proposals based on the same assumptions, rather than unrelated offers using different pricing models. It makes it easier to choose the most favourable option and reduces the risk of signing a contract that only looks attractive at first glance.

COMPARING OFFERS

What we compare in electricity offers

Comparing electricity offers involves more than checking the rates per kWh or MWh. Proposals may differ in their pricing model, additional price components, volume commitments and contractual provisions.

Pricing model

We check whether the offer uses fixed pricing, SPOT, an index-linked price, tranches or a hybrid model — and whether this suits the business’s consumption profile.

Electricity commodity price

We compare the underlying electricity price, which is usually the headline figure in the offer, but never assess it in isolation from the other terms.

Price components

We review profile costs, balancing, Polish excise duty, costs associated with property rights under energy certificates, service charges, supplier margins and any other costs included in the offer.

Volume commitments

We review minimum and maximum consumption levels, tolerances, surcharges and the consequences of deviations from the declared consumption.

Contract term

We check the contract duration, renewal terms, termination provisions and risks arising from the timing of signature.

Restrictive clauses

We examine indexation clauses, special conditions and mechanisms that may affect the actual cost of electricity during the contract.

Metering points and locations

Where a business has several electricity delivery points, we help organise the data and compare offers on a consistent basis.

The lowest unit price does not always mean the best offer. The overall billing mechanism, contract terms and risks borne by the client are what matter.

HOW OUR FEES WORK

Who pays for the electricity broker’s service?

Under our standard arrangement, the client does not pay us a separate brokerage commission when signing an electricity supply contract. Energy Trend is paid by the electricity supplier whose offer the client selects.
If the scope includes additional reports, an independent review of offers collected by the client or recommendations for management, we agree and price that work separately.

NO SEPARATE COMMISSION
Under the standard arrangement, the client does not pay us a separate brokerage commission.

Our process

How the electricity offer process works

01
You send us your contract and invoice

You provide your current electricity supply contract, your latest invoice and basic information about the business and its electricity consumption.

02
We agree the enquiry requirements

Based on your data, we decide which pricing model to request from suppliers: fixed price, SPOT, index-linked, tranche purchasing or a hybrid model.

03
We approach electricity suppliers

We request proposals from suppliers able to meet the agreed requirements and billing model.

04
We compare the proposals

We review the price, pricing model, volume commitments, contract duration, restrictive clauses and additional costs.

05
We support your selection

We explain the differences between proposals and help you choose the most favourable option.

06
We support the supplier changeover

Once an offer has been selected, we help with the formalities of signing the contract or switching electricity supplier.

We manage the process so your business does not have to collect and compare inconsistent offers from electricity suppliers.

Do you also need gas offers or support with both utilities?

We can help with electricity alone, gas offers or both utilities at the same time. If you would like to discuss a wider process, mention it in the form or contact us directly — we will agree the appropriate scope of support.

Is Energy Trend an electricity supplier?

No. Energy Trend acts as an electricity broker. We do not sell electricity ourselves. We help obtain supplier offers, compare terms and manage the process of selecting or switching suppliers.

Yes. We can help with electricity offers, gas offers or both utilities together. Simply describe your situation in the form or contact us directly — we will recommend the appropriate approach.

Ideally, send your current electricity supply contract and latest invoice. The contract lets us review the contractual terms, while the invoice shows how you are currently billed and the scale of consumption. If you do not yet have all the documents, send what you have — we will identify any missing information in the next step.

You can approach suppliers directly. A broker, however, helps define consistent requirements, obtain comparable offers and check the factors that affect the real cost of a contract — not just the quoted electricity rate.

No. We compare prices, pricing models, additional charges, volume commitments, contract duration and provisions that may affect the actual cost of electricity.

Yes. Once an offer has been selected, we help with the formalities of signing a contract or switching electricity supplier.

No. The number of electricity delivery points is not the key factor. The service can also be worthwhile with a single metering point if annual electricity costs are significant for the business. As a guide, comparing offers is worth considering when annual bills exceed approximately PLN 100,000.

Under our standard arrangement, the client does not pay us a separate brokerage commission when signing an electricity supply contract. Energy Trend is paid by the supplier whose offer is selected. We price additional reports, independent offer reviews and management recommendations separately.

We send enquiries to electricity suppliers with whom we work and who can meet the agreed requirements. If a client also wants us to consider offers they have obtained themselves, we agree that scope separately.

Yes. We can review an offer’s price, pricing model, volume commitments and contract terms. We treat this as a bespoke review and agree the scope separately.

This service focuses on electricity supply offers and the terms proposed by suppliers. Distribution charges, contracted capacity, reactive energy and distribution tariffs require a separate assessment. If you would like us to review these areas too, mention this in the form — we will recommend the appropriate scope of support.

Ideally, start several months before your current contract expires. The more time you allow for gathering documents, preparing enquiries and comparing offers, the lower the risk of having to make a rushed decision.

Discuss an electricity or gas purchasing model for your business

Briefly describe your situation and attach any available documents. A contract, invoice or supplier offer you would like us to review is enough to get started. Based on the information provided, we will determine the most useful scope of support: choosing a purchasing model, preparing a request for offers, comparing proposals or reviewing an offer from a supplier.
