ENERGY AND GAS BROKER FOR BUSINESSES
Energy and gas broker for businesses procurement advice and purchasing-model selection
We help businesses determine which electricity or gas purchasing model makes sense for them. Within the agreed scope, we also develop the specifications for requests for proposals and compare suppliers’ offers. Our assessment covers not just price, but also consumption profiles, contract duration, market risks, volume terms and contractual provisions.
Electricity or gas procurement should not start with a simple question: “Who offers the lowest rate?” The first step is to choose the right purchasing model: fixed price, spot-market pricing, indexed pricing, purchasing in tranches, a hybrid model or another arrangement suited to the company’s consumption profile and risk tolerance.
Energy Trend acts as a broker and procurement adviser. We do not sell electricity or gas ourselves. We help clients select a purchasing model, invite suitable suppliers to tender, compare terms and navigate the offer-selection process.
TRUST AND EXPERIENCE
Electricity and gas procurement advice focused on your interests
Electricity and gas
We advise businesses on electricity and gas procurement, from reviewing their starting position to comparing the terms of suppliers’ offers.
Different purchasing models
We assess fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based and hybrid purchasing, as well as other arrangements tailored to consumption profiles and the acceptable level of risk.
Request-for-proposal specifications
We help prepare or refine the specifications for a request for proposals, so suppliers respond to the company’s actual needs rather than a general question about price.
Comparing terms, not just prices
We compare prices, volume terms, contractual provisions and the risks borne by the client. This prevents procurement decisions from being based solely on the lowest quoted rate.
Support for larger and more complex consumers
We work with businesses that have multiple electricity metering points (PPE, the designation used in Poland), several sites or substantial utility consumption, where electricity and gas procurement calls for a structured process.
Choose the purchasing model before comparing prices
In electricity and gas procurement, the lowest rate is not always the best choice. If a company requests the wrong product, it may receive offers that look attractive at first glance but do not suit its consumption profile, budget or risk tolerance.
That is why we start by assessing the client’s situation: volumes, seasonality, number of electricity metering points (PPE) or supply points, expiry of the current contract, budget expectations and tolerance for price volatility. Only then do we decide whether to seek fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based, hybrid or other purchasing arrangements.
We then compare offers for the selected purchasing model, so clients choose between proposals designed to meet the same objective rather than unrelated bids.
Why not simply ask suppliers for offers directly?
A supplier responds with an offer based on its own products and current commercial policy. A client requesting a fixed price will generally receive a fixed-price offer. A request for spot or indexed pricing will typically produce an offer in that model.
The difficulty is that clients do not always know which product to request. Energy Trend starts one step earlier: we help identify the purchasing model that genuinely suits the business before approaching suppliers able to provide it.
This produces a more structured comparison and prevents the decision from being based solely on the lowest rate in the first response.

WHO IS IT FOR?
Who is this service for?
Our electricity and gas brokerage service is intended for businesses whose utility procurement is significant enough to affect operating costs. It delivers the greatest value when the decision involves more than a single rate and requires selecting a purchasing model, preparing a tender and comparing contract terms.

Manufacturing and industrial businesses
For plants where electricity or gas is a significant operating cost and the choice of purchasing model affects budgets, margins and cost predictability.

Multi-site organisations and businesses with multiple metering points
For companies operating several production halls, branches, shops, warehouses or supply points that want to organise utility procurement through a single process.

Logistics, warehousing and technical facilities
For organisations with regular electricity or gas consumption that want to explore the market without committing their own resources to the entire tendering process.

Businesses approaching the end of their current contract
For clients who want time to prepare for a new contract instead of making a decision under pressure in the final weeks of their existing agreement.

Businesses seeking an independent review of an offer
For clients who already have a supplier’s proposal and want to confirm that its price, settlement model and contractual terms genuinely serve their interests.

As a rule, this service is most relevant to businesses with significant electricity or gas costs, several PPE metering points or supply points, or a need for independent offer assessment. It is not intended for companies seeking only a quick online quote or very small consumers whose annual electricity or gas costs are below approximately PLN 100,000.
CUSTOMER CHALLENGES
Where businesses most often lose control of electricity and gas procurement
In many companies, electricity or gas procurement only begins when the current contract is about to expire. Time pressure then builds, offers are compared hastily, and decisions are often driven mainly by the unit price.
The contract is ending, but there is no purchasing strategy
The company knows its agreement will expire but has yet to settle on a purchasing model, action plan or clear criteria for selecting an offer.
Offers are difficult to compare
Suppliers present offers based on different models: fixed price, spot, index-linked, tranche-based or hybrid. Without common assumptions, it is difficult to assess which proposal really offers the best terms.
The price looks good, but the terms conceal risks
The unit rate may look attractive, while volume terms, indexation, consumption deviations or contract clauses can transfer additional risks to the client.
Multiple metering points or sites complicate procurement
With many PPE metering points, supply points or locations, collecting data, aligning assumptions and preparing one coherent request for proposals becomes difficult.
A fixed price is not always the best option
Clients want predictability but may be unsure whether fixed pricing is the right model for the entire contract period, consumption profile and risk tolerance.
The offer needs an independent assessment
A business has received a supplier’s proposal but wants to check the settlement model, price, volumes and contract terms before signing to ensure its interests are protected.
Energy Trend brings structure to the process: we help choose the purchasing model, prepare requests for proposals, compare offers and identify factors that could affect the actual cost of the contract.
THE BROKER'S ROLE
How an electricity and gas broker works
Energy Trend does not sell its own electricity or gas. Our role is to help clients prepare to purchase: select a model, organise data, invite suppliers to quote and compare offers on more than just price, taking account of contract terms and risks.
We work from the client’s perspective: consumption profile, number of PPE metering points or supply points, desired budget certainty, risk tolerance and the expiry date of the current agreement.
We assess the business's starting position and needs
We review consumption profiles, the number of PPE metering points or supply points, the current contract and its expiry date, budget expectations and acceptable risk levels.
We identify suitable purchasing models
We assess whether fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based, hybrid or another electricity or gas purchasing arrangement best suits the business.
We prepare or refine requests for proposals
We help organise data and assumptions so supplier enquiries are consistent, comparable and tailored to the company’s actual requirements.
We approach suitable suppliers
We contact suppliers able to accommodate the selected purchasing model, volume, consumption profile and contractual requirements.
We compare prices, settlement mechanisms and contractual terms
We assess not just the quoted rate but also settlement methods, volume provisions, indexation, contractual clauses and risks for the client.
We recommend options and support offer selection
We explain which options best fit the client’s requirements and support them through the offer-selection process.

Under the standard model, clients pay no separate brokerage commission. Energy Trend is remunerated by the chosen electricity or gas supplier. If a client also wants us to assess offers they have collected independently, prepare a request for proposals or produce analyses and documents for management, we agree that scope separately.
PURCHASING MODELS
Which purchasing models do we consider?
We do not assume one model works best for every company. Depending on the circumstances, we evaluate different electricity and gas procurement options and identify the one that best fits the consumption profile, budget and acceptable level of risk.

Fixed price
For businesses seeking budget certainty and protection against price increases. Fixed pricing may cover the entire term, a particular quarter, part of the volume or a specific forward product.

SPOT / indexed price
For businesses that accept greater volatility and want exposure to current market conditions. This approach requires informed risk management and an assessment of consumption profiles.

Purchasing in tranches
For cases where making a single decision for the entire volume and period is not appropriate. Electricity or gas volumes can be hedged at different times.

Hybrid model
For businesses that may benefit most from a combination of approaches, such as a fixed price for part of the term and spot or indexed pricing for the remaining volume.

Renewable-energy products, cPPA or vPPA
For clients considering long-term price hedging, ESG objectives or a product linked to a particular energy source. In such cases, understanding the settlement mechanism and contractual risks is especially important.
Not every market product is right for every situation. We help identify the purchasing model that fits the company's real needs before comparing prices.
We structure requests so suppliers quote for the same scope
One of the most common challenges in electricity and gas procurement is comparing offers that appear to cover the same product but actually differ. Differences may concern pricing models, delivery periods, commercial fees, profile costs, balancing, volume tolerances, termination terms or how market changes are reflected in settlements.
We therefore define the request-for-proposal specifications: number of PPE metering points or supply points, volume, delivery period, expected pricing model, price components, permitted changes, volume terms and the documents suppliers must attach to their offers.
This enables clients to compare proposals prepared on the same basis instead of several incomparable bids.
The scope of our request-for-proposal preparation depends on client needs and is agreed individually, from organising the basic assumptions to drafting a complete document for distribution to suppliers.
For more complex products, such as spot, indexed, tranche-based, cPPA or vPPA arrangements, we examine how the settlement mechanism works and what may happen under different market scenarios.
Sometimes the value of an assessment lies not just in choosing an offer, but in showing that a particular model does not fit the company’s circumstances, fails to provide the expected protection or calls for renegotiation.
We assess product and contract risks, not just price
In electricity and gas offers, the rate is only part of the picture. The pricing formula, settlement method, volume tolerance, termination terms, additional fees and clauses that may shift price or volume risk to the client also matter.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Choose the right option
Here we explain our procurement advice and brokerage support. If you only need help with electricity or gas, you can go straight to the relevant service. Alternatively, simply describe your situation in the form and we will identify the appropriate scope of support.
Electricity for businesses
For companies needing support with electricity only: organising PPE metering-point data, choosing a pricing model and comparing suppliers’ offers.
Gas for businesses
For companies needing support with gas only: organising supply-point data, selecting a settlement model and comparing offers.
Not sure which purchasing model to choose?
Stay on this page or contact us. We can help determine whether fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based, hybrid or another arrangement would be most suitable.
What documents are needed to get started?
We do not require a complete data pack at the outset. A few basic details are enough for an initial discussion and to define a possible scope of cooperation. The more information you provide, the sooner we can assess which purchasing model is worth considering.

OUR PROCESS
How we work together
We review the starting position
We examine the existing contract, invoices, its expiry date, number of PPE metering points or supply points, volume and basic consumption profile.
We determine which purchasing model makes sense
We assess whether fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based, hybrid or another arrangement works best. We do not assume a single solution in advance.
We prepare the request specifications
We organise the parameters suppliers are to quote for: term, volume, PPE metering points, pricing model, price components, volume terms and required documents.
We obtain and compare offers
We approach suppliers who can provide the selected model, then compare price, product structure, contractual clauses and risks.
We present our recommendation
We show which option best meets the client’s objectives: budget stability, flexibility, risk reduction or more favourable terms.
We support the selection and purchasing process
After the client’s decision, we help with the formalities involved in choosing or switching suppliers.
We structure the entire process so the client chooses a purchasing model and terms that fit their consumption profile, budget and risk tolerance, rather than an arbitrary offer.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions
most businesses ask before getting in touch.
Can’t find your question?

Does Energy Trend sell electricity or gas?
No. Energy Trend operates as a broker and procurement adviser. We do not sell electricity or gas ourselves. We help select a purchasing model, prepare or refine enquiries to suppliers, compare offers and navigate the selection of the most advantageous option.
Why use a broker if I can contact suppliers myself?
You can approach suppliers yourself, but then you will generally be enquiring about a product you have already selected. The problem is that it is not always clear whether fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based or hybrid purchasing will work best. We first help determine which model to ask for, and only then compare offers.
What exactly can you do for us?
We can review your current position, help select a purchasing model, prepare specifications, approach suppliers, compare offers, identify contract risks and support the selection of the option best suited to your business’s consumption profile. The scope is agreed individually: standard brokerage operates under a different model from paid reports, offer analyses or recommendations for management.
Do you always recommend the cheapest offer?
No. The lowest rate is not always the best choice. We also consider the pricing model, contract term, volume tolerances, additional fees, settlement method, termination provisions and risks borne by the client. Sometimes an offer costing slightly more is safer or better suited to the consumption profile.
I already have a supplier's offer. Can you review it?
Yes. We can review an offer you have received from a supplier and flag elements that need comparison, negotiation or clarification. This includes fixed-price, spot, indexed, tranche-based, renewable-energy, cPPA and vPPA products. We treat this as a bespoke assessment and price it separately.
Can you prepare a request for proposals for suppliers?
Yes. We can prepare or refine requests for proposals so suppliers quote for the same scope. We define factors such as volume, number of PPE metering points or supply points, delivery period, pricing model, price components, volume tolerances, commercial fees and required documents. This makes subsequent comparisons substantially more meaningful.
Do you assess spot, indexed, tranche-based, cPPA and vPPA models?
Yes, where the client is considering such a product or it appears in a supplier’s offer. We review the pricing mechanism, settlement method and allocation of market risk. Not every complex product is suitable in every situation; sometimes the best recommendation is to reject a structure or renegotiate its terms.
Does the client pay for the broker's services?
In the standard brokerage model, clients pay no separate commission for arranging the contract: the chosen electricity or gas supplier remunerates Energy Trend. If the scope includes independent assessment of offers collected by the client, drafting requests for proposals, preparing management recommendations or additional market analyses, we agree and price those services separately.
Where do the offers presented to clients come from?
We approach suppliers able to offer the selected purchasing model. As standard, we work with offers from suppliers with whom we cooperate. If clients want offers they have obtained independently to be included, we can assess these within a separately agreed scope.
Which documents should I send to get started?
Ideally, send your current contract, latest invoice, contract expiry date, number of PPE metering points or supply points, and estimated annual electricity or gas consumption. If you already have a supplier’s offer, attach that too. You do not need every document before making contact; we can identify missing information in the next step.
When is the best time to begin the process?
Ideally, a few months before your current contract expires. Allowing time to assess the purchasing model, prepare enquiries and compare offers reduces the risk of rushed decisions. With larger volumes or multiple PPE metering points, avoid leaving this until the final weeks.
Can you handle electricity and gas separately?
Yes. We can assist with one or both utilities. If you are unsure which scope is right, describe your situation in the form or contact us and we will direct your enquiry appropriately.
Discuss the electricity or gas purchasing model for your business
Briefly describe your situation and attach any available documents. A contract, invoice or supplier’s offer that you would like reviewed is enough to get started. We will use that information to determine the appropriate support: choosing a purchasing model, preparing a request for proposals, comparing bids or reviewing a supplier’s proposal.
